Zsche Chuang Rimbo Wong

Zsche Chuang Rimbo Wong currently recently graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music where she studied with Roberto Díaz and Hsin-Yun Huang. She made her solo concerto debut at Severance Hall and was critically acclaimed as a performer whose “prodigious technique and powerful ability to project was as stunning as her expressive playing” (ClevelandClassical.com). Originally from Hong Kong, Wong finished her B.M. at the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2013 under the guidance of Jeffrey Irvine and Lynne Ramsey. She previously attended the Idyllwild Arts Academy in California where she studied with Donald McInnes. Wong participated as principal violist at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Germany, Pacific Music Festival in Japan, the Nationaal Jeugd Orkest in the Netherlands and Spoleto Festival USA; other festival appearances include the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival, Music from Angel Fire, Taos School of Music, SLSQ seminar, Toronto Chamber Music Festival, New York String Orchestra Seminar, and Yellow Barn School of Music (YAP). She held principal positions of the Curtis, Canton, Akron Symphony Orchestras and Breckenridge Music Festival. She is currently a member of Symphony in C and performs regularly as a substitute with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Wong has performed throughout the globe at prestigious venues such as Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Severance Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and she toured extensively in major cities in China and Japan. With a great passion in chamber music, she has collaborated with Grammy-winning artists Jason Vieaux and Eighth Blackbird in contemporary music. Other public chamber music performances include collaborations with distinguished artists such as Roberto Díaz, Robert McDonald, Steven Tenenbom and many others. Other than her musical activities, she enjoys biking, swimming and spending time with her friends and her cat Dumpling.
