For over 10 years, Jackson Heights-based musical powerhouse PERCUSSIA has been thrilling audiences everywhere with their hard-driving, world-music-infused rhythms. Drums Around the World takes audiences on a musical journey using percussion instruments, chants and rhythms from all over the world. Percussia has performed in many community-based settings, schools, and concert halls throughout Queens and the greater NY metro area. Recent highlights include a performance at Diversity Plaza, Music for Autism, and an appearance one Jane Pauly’s CBS Sunday morning show. Percussia made a cameo appearance in Frederick Wiseman’s acclaimed documentary film In Jackson Heights.
