Kerry Fenster is a longtime Music for Autism favorite and we are thrilled he is our 2026 Spotlight Artist. Kerry is an exceptionally talented, inspiring, and spirited performer who has captivated our audiences with his dynamic artistry and heartfelt connection to his listeners.

Music for Autism names one Spotlight Artist annually. It is our singular distinction to an artist of extraordinary musicianship and dedication to the families we serve. Music for Autism began the Spotlight Artist program in 2009 to recognize gifted artists who have made a significant commitment to supporting the work of M4A and aiding in the organization’s expansion across the U.S.
“I am honored to have been selected as Music for Autism’s 2026 Spotlight Artist,” said Kerry. “Over the last few years, working with Music for Autism at various schools and online has been not only a pleasure, but has also given me a renewed sense of inspiration and purpose. I couldn’t be more humbled and grateful for this acknowledgement. Thank you to Music for Autism for this lovely recognition, and thank you to the Help Group and the greater community for advocating for a world full of beautiful and diverse individuals.”

Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Kerry is a guitarist, bassist, songwriter, and singer whose style draws on an eclectic range of influences—from British pop and psychedelia to ska, new wave, punk, and rock. Counting Jimi Hendrix, Patti Smith, Elvis Costello, Joey Ramone, Dick Lucas, and Mozart among his heroes, Kerry plays in styles ranging from pop, folk, rock, and punk to ska, reggae, and children’s music. He has performed on stages across America, from intimate club and school settings to benefits, ballparks, television appearances, and the regional Olympics in Seattle, WA. Kerry’s album Songs About Us earned both the NAPPA Award and the Parents’ Choice Award. He studied music therapy at California State University, Northridge, and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music from California State University, Los Angeles. With a warm heart and a sweet tune, Kerry goes about the world making friends for himself and for music—a true guitar-toting ambassador of music and goodwill.

Remarked Robert Accordino, Founder and Chair of the Board of Music for Autism on the designation, “Kerry Fenster brings more than music to Music for Autism—he brings deep humanity, joy, and a rare ability to truly connect through sound. His artistry and generosity of spirit have left an indelible mark on our Music for Autism and Help Group communities, and we are profoundly excited to recognize him as our 2026 Spotlight Artist.”

Ryan Gardner, Music for Autism Artist Manager, added, “Kerry is such a kind and generous person in addition to being a brilliant musician, which is why he has resonated so strongly with our audiences. His music and his ability to connect is truly special and we are so fortunate to be able to highlight his fantastic work as our 2026 Spotlight Artist.”

“Kerry Fenster holds a special place in our hearts. With deep roots at The Help Group, his commitment to our mission, paired with his exceptional talent have created meaningful, joyful experiences for the children and families we serve,” said Susan Berman, PhD, CEO of The Help Group and member of the Music for Autism Board of Directors.

We are thrilled to bring Kerry’s remarkable talent and passion to our families through free, interactive concerts that can be enjoyed by all. With the continuation of our virtual concert offerings, even more audiences across the United States can experience the magic of Kerry’s performances.
