
Justin Mohatt, MD, is a child and adolescent psychiatry leader with over 20 years of experience across multiple settings. Dr. Mohatt currently runs a private practice in Carmel, CA, and provides clinically informed consultation services to architects and designers of mental health facilities, working to assure that the built environment is not only safe and functional but also promotes healing and well-being for staff and patients.
He was faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine from 2010–2021, where he served as the Vice Chair and Division Director for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Vice Chair for Faculty Practice, and Co-Founder of the Pediatric OCD, Anxiety and Tic Disorders Program. He also served as Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Ambulatory Services for NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and on the Executive Committee of the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Youth Anxiety Center.
He left Weill Cornell in 2021 to serve as Medical Director and Head of Innovation at Ohana, Montage Health in Monterey, CA, a transformational mental health program serving the central coast of California. In addition to clinical leadership, Dr. Mohatt has served as an advisor to behavioral health tech companies and funders in the pediatric mental health space.
Outside of his medical career, Dr. Mohatt is passionate about the arts and, along with his husband James, supports a variety of art organizations and served 10 years on the Board of Directors of The Atlantic Theater Company. He currently lives in Carmel, CA with his husband of 27 years and their two Bernedoodles, Avi and Pamel Paul.
