Music for Autism Continues Successful Partnership with the 92nd Street Y

New York, NY – Music for Autism is thrilled to continue its successful partnership with the 92nd Street Y, one of New York’s premiere cultural institutions. Building on the success of its first concert in the Y1s Unterberg Chapel, which featured vocalist and composer Laura Parkins, M4A recently partnered with the Y for two more stellar performances:

  • On January 9th, cellist Sophie Shao and pianist Jeewon Park performed in the Unterberg Chapel. Shao has been praised by critics for her “lush, sweet sound,” and Park for her “deeply reflective” style.
  • On February 13th, pianist Jade Simmons, M4A’s first Spotlight Artist, will show us her hip and passionate approach to classical music when she performs in the Y1s Art Gallery. Simmons is both classical and cutting edge and promises to be one of Music for Autism’s most electrifying performers yet.

“We are tremendously grateful and honored to be working in collaboration with such a world class institution! It has been a pleasure to work closely with Fretta Reitzes, Director of the Goldman Center for Youth & Family to bring our extraordinary musical programming to the 92nd Street Y.”

There are several concerts planned at the Y in 2010 with a kick-off celebration in the works as well to mark the collaborative work of Music for Autism and the 92nd Street Y to serve those with autism and their families through music.
