In-Person Concert with Dan + Claudia Zanes with Tyree Austin
1PM – 2PM
11614 Seven Locks Rd,
Rockville, MD 20854
Grammy Award winning rocker turned all-ages entertainer Dan Zanes and Haitian-American jazz vocalist / music therapist Claudia Zanes have been singing in harmony since the day they met in 2016. They perform their soulful style of folk music extensively throughout the United States (and recently returned from a three week tour of Finland, Estonia, and Latvia).
Dan + Claudia have released two records on the legendary Smithsonian Folkways label. Their most recent, Pieces of Home expands their vision of joyful intergenerational porch party music. For as long as they’ve been together, the two have integrated Claudia’s music therapy background into their concerts. They have been at the forefront of the “Sensory Friendly” movement in community music spaces and are honored to be working with Music for Autism.
Tyree Austin from Gary, Indiana, is a recent graduate of Howard University’s jazz vocal program. He brings the uplifting spirit of his hometown’s heroes, The Staple Singers, into every song that he sings. He officially joined Dan + Claudia in 2024.
The trio is heavy on vocal harmonies, 120string guitar, and a social spirit that invites people of all ages to sing along and dance from the very start.
